Quotation requests are not bookings
Submitting a form, sending a WhatsApp message or discussing a job does not reserve a vehicle. A booking exists only after Crown Courier issues a written quotation, the customer accepts it, the stated payment requirement is completed and Crown Courier confirms vehicle availability and dispatch arrangements.
Accurate load and access information
The customer must disclose the nature, count, approximate dimensions and weight of the goods, photographs when requested, stairs, lifts, carrying distance, loading equipment, height restrictions, parking limits, booking slots and other access conditions. Materially incomplete information may require a revised quote, different vehicle, extra trip, waiting charge or cancellation.
Payment and proof of payment
Pay only the EFT amount or deposit stated on the accepted quotation and only into the banking details shown there. Send proof of payment through the instructed channel. A screenshot or proof of payment does not by itself confirm cleared funds or dispatch.
Cancellations, postponements and waiting time
Job-specific cancellation, postponement, deposit and waiting-time conditions must be shown on the quotation. Tell Crown Courier as soon as a date, access window or load changes. Charges may apply where a confirmed vehicle or team has been allocated or dispatched.
Packing, loading and specialist work
Packing, wrapping, dismantling, reassembly, loading assistants, forklifts, cranes and specialist handling are included only when explicitly listed in the quotation. Goods must be packed and labelled suitably for ordinary road transport unless Crown Courier has accepted responsibility for that work in writing.
Prohibited and undeclared goods
Illegal, hazardous, explosive, flammable, perishable, live, stolen, prohibited, specially regulated or undeclared goods are not accepted without the lawful approvals and a written agreement. The customer remains responsible for accurately declaring the contents.
Valuable, fragile and sensitive goods
Declare fragile, high-value, confidential or unusually heavy goods before quotation. Do not assume insurance, guaranteed delivery time, live tracking or unlimited liability unless the accepted quotation expressly states the relevant cover or commitment.
Collection and delivery contacts
The customer must ensure that authorised contacts are available, access is lawful and safe, and any site or marketplace documents and references are ready. Delays or rejected handovers caused by missing access, documents or incorrect preparation may result in waiting, return or redelivery charges.
Takealot seller deliveries
Crown Courier is an independent transport provider and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Takealot. Sellers remain responsible for current marketplace booking, packaging, labelling, appointment, reference and receiving requirements.
Damage or delivery concerns
Raise visible concerns promptly at handover and preserve photographs, packaging and the accepted quotation. The applicable process and any legally permitted limitation must be assessed against the written booking and South African law.
Website information
Website examples and vehicle categories are general guidance. They do not override a written quotation or guarantee a particular vehicle, capacity, route, price or arrival time.
Last updated: 23 August 2026. Where these terms conflict with mandatory South African law, the applicable law prevails.
